York White Roses Baseball Team
The York White Roses compiled a 290-399 record as the Class AA affiliate of the Washington Senators from 1963 to 1968. The team finished in last place in the Eastern League for 3 of the 5 seasons. Yet, one of its players started the major league All-Star Game in 1962, another won the American League ERA title in 1969, and another appeared in the major leagues and in two Super Bowls. The White Roses also produced the Eastern League's Most Valuable Player in 1966. Joe Coleman Jr., Dick Bosman, Barry Moore, Dave Stenhouse, Del Unser, Jim French, and a handful of other White Roses played with the Washington Senators. Learn more about this interesting era in York's baseball history.
