Curious about Indian food but worried it might be too spicy? This course is the perfect introduction. Together, we’ll explore chaat. This colorful and wildly popular style of Indian street food is more about flavor and texture than heat. Chaat is a little bit sweet, a little tangy, a little crunchy, and always full of surprises. Think of it as a playful mix of ingredients. Something crispy, something comforting, something cool and bright, something tangy sweet. Each bite gives you layers of flavor: creamy, crunchy, zesty, and so satisfying. By the end of class, you’ll understand why chaat is one of India’s most-loved foods. You’ll be ready to recreate these fun, crowd-pleasing dishes at home. Come prepared to work with typical kitchen tools and equipment. Drinks are not provided, although you can purchase them downstairs at Leg Up Farmers Market. You can also bring your own from home. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you’d like to take notes, please bring a pen. Everyone should meet at 3100 North George St, York, PA 17406. This course will be held at Leg Up Farmers Market, in their community room upstairs, which is handicap accessible.
Course fee includes $30 for food.
